Lapse of time beginning is the date determined by law, and lapse of time calculation for crime and penalties will begin from that date. The diversity of the crimes leads us put more attention for determining of this date. However, it is possible that lapse of time be interrupted due to any investigation measures, so the previous passed time may not be calculated during the new course. It is obviously on the contrary to lapse of time suspension through which the passed time before suspension may be calculated through the restart. Recognizing lapse of time interrupting measures, their impacts, and suspending measures in regard with the evolutions of criminal law have been studied in this article. Research method is descriptive-analytical that gained by referring to legal-jurisprudential sources at libraries including books, dissertations and numerous articles. We have addressed this question whether the evolutions of lapse of time regulations could have resolved the increase of criminal cases at courts.      مهمترین موضوعی که در اعمال مقررات مرور زمان باید به آن توجه داشت، مبدأ مرور زمان در جرائم و مجازات‌هاست. مبدأ مرور زمان تاریخی است که به موجب قانون تعیین می‌شود و از همان تاریخ محاسبه مدت مرور زمان بر جرم یا مجازات آغاز می‌گردد. با تنوع انواع جرائم، تعیین این تاریخ مستلزم دقت نظر بسیار است. در عین حال ممکن است مرور زمان بر اثر هر اقدام تعقیبی و تحقیقی قطع گردد لذا مدت قبلی نباید در احتساب مرور زمان جدید منظور شود برخلاف تعلیق مرور زمان که زمان سپری شده قبل از تعلیق، بابت مرور زمان قانونی احتساب خواهد شد. شناخت دقیق اقدامات قاطع مرور زمان و آثار قطع آن و در عین حال علل تعلیق مرور زمان با امعان نظر به تحولات قانون مجازات جدید از دیگر مباحث مطروحه در این مقاله می‌باشد. روش تحقیق مورد استفاده در این رساله توصیفی و تحلیلی است، که از طریق مراجعه به منابع فقهی- حقوقی موجود در کتابخانه ها، رساله های دکتری و مقالات در صدد بررسی این سوال هستیم که آیا تحولات نهاد مرور زمان توانسته مشکل تزاید پرونده های کیفری رو حل و فصل نماید؟ https://leg.isu.ac.ir/article_2795_a7f592cef8b130a6967a90617db5681b.pdf
